The Mediator

Mediators are idealistic, imaginative, and guided by a strong set of personal values. They have a rich inner world and are often drawn to creativity, meaning, and the question of how things ought to be. Empathetic and accepting, they tend to look for the good and the potential in people.

Mediators care most about authenticity and living in line with their principles, and they can be quietly stubborn when those principles are challenged. They think in terms of values and possibilities rather than hard logic or routine, and they are often reflective, curious, and open-minded. Many are drawn to writing, the arts, or causes that align with their ideals.

Because they hold high ideals, Mediators can be self-critical and disappointed when reality falls short, and they sometimes struggle with practical follow-through or with conflict. They may take things personally and need time alone to recharge. They tend to do best in flexible, meaningful work and in relationships that feel genuine and accepting.
